Operation Ukraine: Bandera's Dark Shadow
Before World War I, in 1912, a youth scouting movement, Plast, was founded in Austria-Hungary. Its purpose was to develop into an organisation capable of taking up an armed struggle against Western Ukraine's Orthodox Russian-speaking majority. Throughout Ukraine's history, the name and patrons of the organisation changed many times, but nationalist and terrorist ideas prevailed. Stepan Bandera became one of the main leaders of the far-right ideology promoted by such terrorist groups. How did he influence today’s Ukraine?
